Adult Swim announces new programing at their Upfront Event in New York. Adult Swim is picking an impressive program lineup for 2012 and 2013, which includes an untitled Harold and Kumar project and a animated series from Community’s Dan Harmon. Other shows in development are Rick & Morty, Colonel Walace, Coffin Dodgers, Green Bench, Freestyle Love Supreme, King Star King, and Rolling with Dad. Also announced at the Upfront Event is the Venture Brothers Halloween Special which is scheduled to premiere later this fall on Adult Swim!

THE VENTURE BROS. HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

This October on Adult Swim, the Venture Family fills your Halloween goody bag with fun-sized Truth. Created and directed by Jackson Publick and written by Publick and Doc Hammer, both of whom also provide voices for the special, the Venture Brothers Halloween Special is being animated by Titmouse, Inc.

UPDATE: The Halloween Special is a half-hour episode, one of ten episodes being produced for Venture Brothers Season 5.

Jackson Publick writes to Mantis-Eye with news regarding the Venture Bros. Season 5 premiere.

Things are moving briskly over here at Venture Central/AstroBase/Titmouse. The first episode just shipped to Korea. But you’re wrong about one thing–it doesn’t take nine months to animate overseas. Nine months is more like the time it takes to complete an episode from initial design to final edit, so it includes pre-production. Actually, it’s more like ten months, since we began design on the first episode the first week of the new year, and we’ll be delivering it to the network in early October. According to our schedule–and assuming we keep to it–all ten episodes will be completed and delivered by the end of January. Which is roughly when we’re supposed to premiere the fifth season.

Mantis-Eye adds that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer will be making convention appearances at San Diego Comic-Con, Dragon*Con and New York Comic Con. There is also a possibility that the trailer for the Venture Bros. Season 5 will be revealed at these conventions.

Adult Swim hits the road again this spring to party with tomorrow’s leaders for their fifth crazy and outrageous college tour.

The 2012 Adult Swim Carnival Tour will hit 10 different stops and feature free live music, unique and wacky games, tons of Adult Swim prizes, and an experience like no other. Out with the bearded lady and the two-headed snake act, Adult Swim’s bringing a massive cat and unicorn horns!

The Adult Swim Carnival Tour gets started March 21 and wraps April 20. Carnival goers can transform themselves into ’70s superheroes at the Black Dynamite photo booth, create their own custom Adult Swim t-shirts, play awesome carnival games, and take home free gear. Be sure to check out the cash grab on stage – an event that will be at each tour stop. Exclusive content from soul-packed animated series Black Dynamite and face-melting, head-banging series Metalocalypse, featuring Dethklok, will also be shown throughout the tour.

Local DJs will get the party started at each stop along the tour and keep the crowd going before musical acts take the stage. Dan Deacon and Band of Skulls will be headlining the first half of this wild adventure and other cool acts are to follow at the later stops. The events are free and open to the public, hours vary by location and certain stops require a college ID. Check out Adult Swim Presents for more information. Mayhem Reigns Once Again as Adult Swim Releases on Superjail! Season Two on DVD. Packed With Special Features and All 10 Episodes from the Second Season, DVD will be Sentenced to Retail on March 13, 2012.

Superjail!’s infamous inmates are once again getting released from solitary and slammed back into the general population. What is The Warden thinking?! It means twice the insanity and double the crazy in the most brutally twisted jail ever built! Superjail! Season 2 contains all 10 episodes that are fueled by the classic violence and unimaginable acts of insanity that fans have come to love about this hysterical series. In addition, the DVD boasts loads of bonus features including a live, 10 song concert from Cheeseburger – the party rock band behind the Superjail! theme song – as well as a Cheeseburger animated music video, episode commentary and more!

Built in an active volcano, Superjail! is made up of dangerous criminals, fantastic creatures, and a prison warden who has gone bonkers over the years with his crazy mechanisms and irrational schemes. The infamous complex routinely has riots and murders, and while the criminals of Superjail! may escape time to time, their horrible crimes eventually bring them back. Created by Christy Karacas (Cartoon Sushi, Robotomy) and Stephen Warbrick (Beavis and Butthead, Celebrity Deathmatch), and produced at Titmouse Studios in NY, the series uses flash animation to create traditional animation gags that move at a dizzying pace.

Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles is currently hosting a group exhibition featuring art inspired by Adult Swim shows. The art exhibit opened last Friday and features over 100 artists from around the world paying tribute to programs like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squidbillies, Robot Chicken, Venture Brothers; As well as live action comedies like Delocated, Childrens Hospital and Tim & Eric. Notable artists include Veronica Fish, Scott Listfield, Olly Moss, Dave Perillo, Jay “Ironjaiden” Shaw, and Steve Thomas.

Gallery 1988 is well-known throughout the Los Angeles art scene for displaying pop-culture themed artwork as well as showcasing artwork of emerging artists & designers.
