Animation Auction for Gulf Coast Relief Returns

Animation Auction for Gulf Coast Relief returns today with Brock Samson’s painting of Steve Summers and his beloved Sasquatch. Brock’s portrait first appears in the Venture Bros., Season 4, Episode 1 – “Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel.” The printed on canvas reproduction is signed by Venture Bros. creator, Jackson Publick III and color stylist, Carly Monardo, who painted the prop in Photoshop. Also on the back of the 11″ x 14″ canvas print is a portrait of Brock Samson drawn by Jackson Publick himself! Tom Bayne, who organized the event says that this will be 7 day fundraiser and that there will be some Aqua Teen Hunger Force production drawings up for auction courtesy of Radical Axis Studios. So far, the online auctions have raised over $16,000 in funds for the Baton Rouge Foundation and are expected to surpass $25,000 in charitable funds. Proceeds from the event will offer grants to nonprofit organizations that work directly to help the people and wildlife affected by the gulf oil spill.

Animation Auction Postponed to July 20th

Tom Bayne posts on Twitter that eBay has suspended Animation Auction for Gulf Coast Relief for 14 days. Bayne who organized the auctions, bid on a charity item that was donated to the fundraiser and unknowingly shut down the event. Bayne says that this is a minor setback and that week two of Animation Auctions will begin on July 20th. So far the online auctions have raised over $16,000 in funds for the Baton Rouge Foundation. Animation Auction for Gulf Coast Relief Extended

CoughCoughWheeze.com has extended their Animation Auction on eBay through next week. So far a total of 61 production drawings from the Venture Bros. were auctioned online to aid the oil spill clean up in the Gulf of Mexico. Tom Bayne, animatic supervisor of the show says they’ve been able to raise over $16,000 for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works directly to help the people and wildlife affected by the spill. “Way more than I originally anticipated and really encouraging” says Tom Bayne of the first week of auctions. Bayne says “This auction would not have been nearly as successful without the contributions of Jackson Publick, Stephen DeStefano, Siobhan DeStefano, Jon Roscetti, Kayla Reid and Adam Albert. James Urbaniak and Patton Oswalt were also kind enough to sign some drawings. All in all it was a great group effort.”

Notable auctions from the past week included Henchmen 21 & 24 storyboards, Brock Samson vs. Pirates fight sequence and some original illustrations by Jackson Publick III. The second week of auctions begin on the evening of July 5th. Please visit CoughCoughWheeze.com/Help for more information.
